Can my child get their permit before they turn 16?
Unfortunately no.

Can my child take the written knowledge test before they take the driver's education class in school?
Yes, anyone who has attained the age of 16 can take the written knowledge test provided they are accompanied by a licensed NJ State Driving School.

When does my child get their Learner's Permit so that I can practice with them?
At the completion of the 6 hours of training.

Do i have to schedule the road test?
NO, when you child finishes the lessons, the permit will have the location, date and time of the road test already on the permit.

What happens if a permit is lost, stolen or damaged?
If you are 16, your driving School must accompany you to njmvc to obtain a duplicate pemit.

What type of car is acceptable for my road test?
It must have an emergency brake between the 2 front seats and may not be a rental car.

If I am 17, do I have to wait the full 6 months to take a road test?
Yes

What are the hours that Middletown Driving School offers lessons?
7 days a week starting at 6:30am. Winter months we end at 6:30pm but in the summer we often do lessons until 8pm.
